Mr. Gunnarson is a member of Kirton & McConkie's Corporate and Tax Sections. His practice includes information technology, telecommunications, government relations, constitutional law, and appellate litigation. He joined the firm in 2009.
 
Experience
  • Served as Senior Counsel to U.S. Senator Robert F. Bennett, advising him on issues regarding telecommunications, cyber security, Internet policy and governance, critical infrastructure protection, intellectual property, and constitutional law
  • Represented a landowner before the U.S. Supreme Court and the South Carolina Supreme Court in a prominent regulatory takings case
  • Represented clients as amici curiae in over 35 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, presenting, among others, questions under the Takings Clause, the Commerce Clause, the First Amendment Speech and Establishment Clauses, and the Patent Clause
  • Represented sovereign clients in complex and appellate litigation in cases involving the execution of an international arbitration award; a contractual dispute over the provision of nuclear materials; and the validity of service on OPEC in an antitrust case brought by an American petroleum purchaser
