Overview

Robert Walker is the firm's president and chair of the board, with a law practice focused on the real estate industry. As president, Mr. Walker has established a reputation for authentic leadership and strategic vision. His expertise spans across various areas of law, including purchase and sale transactions, contracts, and general counsel services. Under Mr. Walker’s direction, Kirton McConkie has experienced unprecedented growth and profitability. Mr. Walker is a trusted adviser to clients, attorneys, and staff through his collaborative nature and open-door policy. He prioritizes connection and communication throughout the firm’s five offices.

Mr. Walker is active in the community, serving on boards with the Salt Lake Chamber and JA of Utah, advising students in both the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School and the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, volunteering with Catholic Community Services of Utah, and participating in various charitable and networking organizations through events and campaigns. He is also the co-chair of the Built4Life program through BYU Athletics, a program designed to maximize the student-athlete experience through community service, developing relationships, and activating the power of gratitude.

As a member of the Real Estate section, Mr. Walker represents buyers, sellers, developers, brokers, and lenders in the financing, acquisition, planning and zoning, development, entitlements, leasing, and sale of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial properties. He is experienced in a variety of state, local, and federal sales, income, and property tax issues.

Mr. Walker is recognized as one of Utah's Legal Elite and as a Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star in real estate.

Experience

  • Represents buyers, sellers, developers, brokers, and lenders in the financing, acquisition, planning and zoning, development, entitlements, leasing, and sale of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Represents lenders in documenting mortgage loans.
  • Prepares property purchase and sale contracts and other various property conveyance documents.
  • Represents commercial landlords in lease preparation and lease negotiations.
  • Experienced in a variety of state, local and federal sales, income, and property tax issues.
  • Involved in the preparation of real estate partnership agreements and the creation of homeowners associations.
