  • Handling international legal matters for major religious and other clients, including entity and real-estate structuring projects in foreign jurisdictions, establishing governmental agreements, assisting with international contracting projects, developing strategies for expanding client activities in foreign jurisdictions
  • Overseeing the strategy development and implementation of government relations programs and activities for clients worldwide

    • Partner, Associate, Kirkland & Ellis, 1979-2005 (Los Angeles and D.C. Offices)
      • Retired as head of Kirkland's Los Angeles environmental practice; handled litigation, counseling and regulatory matters under CERCLA, toxic tort and Proposition 65, and other federal and state statutes for clients such as Boeing, GTE, United Technologies, Motorola, Firestone, Dow Chemical, and others
