Overview

Gordon Foote is a member and former chairperson of Kirton McConkie's International and Corporate sections, and he currently serves on the firm’s board of directors. His practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, entity formation and structure issues, contracts, licenses, and private security offerings. He works extensively with private equity firms and national and local radio and television broadcasters and provides general counsel and board advisory services to clients in a variety of industries. He also assists with foreign business transactions, local entity and foreign branch registration and compliance matters, foreign property purchase and lease transactions, independent contractor and workforce management, location and management of foreign legal counsel, and international government relations.

Experience

Spent three years living in Lima, Peru, as area legal counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with oversight of all legal matters arising from Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. He managed over 30 foreign law firms and worked on entity formation, maintenance and regulatory compliance; tax, funding, and finance; labor and employment; real property and construction; litigation; and government relations matters for both non-profit and for-profit entities.

Enjoyed a 17-year corporate and transactional practice with Hallett & Perrin, PC in Dallas, Texas, where he spent 10 years as equity partner in the Corporate and Tax sections with a focus on private equity, startups, partnership and corporate structures, private security offerings, and radio and television broadcasting transactions.
