H-1B Cap season is upon us

On April 1, 2016, the H-1B quota will open, making available 65,000 new H-1B visa numbers for professionals working in occupations requiring at least a U.S. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent based on a combination of education and experience.  Also, there will be an additional 20,000 new H-1B visa numbers for persons who have obtained a master’s or higher degree from a U.S. college or university.  The master’s or higher degree does not have to be related to the occupation.  (However, the person must still have at least a Bachelor’s  degree or its equivalent in a field related to the occupation.)

Last year, the H-1B quota was reached during the first week of April.  Therefore, if your company wishes to file H-1B cap petitions for foreign national employees, we must begin working on these cases as soon as possible.  Please let me know if you have any H-1B cap cases that you would like for our firm to prepare and file.
