Mr. Ekins is currently clerking for Judge David Nuffer in the United States District Court for the District of Utah, and will return to the firm in July, 2021.
Mr. Ekins is a member of Kirton McConkie's Intellectual Property section, based in the firm's St. George office. He is admitted to practice in Utah, Nevada and California, and handles a full range of IP litigation matters for clients in federal courts throughout those jurisdictions. He is IP counsel to multiple clients in different industries, advising them on strategies to protect their inventions, strengthen their brands, and avoid infringing the intellectual property rights of others. Mr. Ekins received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1997, and his B.A in Russian and History from Brigham Young University in 1994. Before joining Kirton McConkie, Mr. Ekins worked for Latham & Watkins and Morrison & Foerster in California, and Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough in Utah. During law school, Mr. Ekins worked as a summer law clerk for the Hon. Michael B. Mukasey in the Southern District of New York.
