David L. Glazier is a member of the firm’s Corporate, Tax and Estate Planning, and Real Estate sections. His focus is on the purchase, sale and merger of businesses, business planning and corporation law, real estate development, contract negotiations, computer and technology law, and estate planning.
In over 30 years of practice, Mr. Glazier has helped business clients (and their principal owners) deal with the diverse legal issues encountered in the normal business life cycle. He has helped organize or create business entities with many different legal, ownership, and management structures and has advised clients on growing their businesses by raising financing or through joint ventures and other types of strategic alliances, and has assisted with purchasing or leasing property. Mr. Glazier has handled compensation plans, established retirement plans, and assisted with other employee-related issues. He also has counseled clients on protecting intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
Mr.Glazier has represented clients in several industries, including technology, medicine, construction, real estate, financial services, and consulting. His business clients range from small startup organizations to emerging growth companies and large commercial, industrial, and financial businesses.
Mr. Glazier has a reputation for successfully advising clients in the complex and sophisticated transactions of selling their businesses. Business succession planning is an area of the law in which Mr. Glazier has considerable experience. It includes helping business owners establish and successfully implement a customized plan to analyze options, plan, prepare for, and eventually make the transition from business at retirement age. It often includes preparing necessary documents to deal with unexpected situations, such as deaths, disabilities, divorces, and deadlocks in businesses. Additionally, he has helped clients make successful business transfers to younger generations of their families.
