Overview

Robbie G. Yates is a member of the firm’s Corporate section and is a leading advisor to institutional investors, emerging companies, and strategic acquirers in various industries. Mr. Yates focuses his practice on negotiating investments in venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds. He also focuses on merger and acquisition transactions and venture capital financings. Mr. Yates assists clients with general securities law compliance, corporate governance issues, and general corporate matters, along with advising entrepreneurs and emerging growth companies on business formation and founders’ issues.

Mr. Yates is recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, Mountain States Super Lawyers, and Utah’s Legal Elite for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.

Experience

Prior to joining Kirton McConkie, Mr. Yates was an associate and partner at Stoel Rives LLP in Salt Lake City (2005-2015); an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in Washington, D.C. (2003-2005); a law clerk at Sullivan  & Cromwell LLP in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles (2002); a law clerk at Stoel Rives LLP in Salt Lake City (2001-2002); and an extern for Chief Judge Dee V. Benson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah (2001).
