Overview

Yangzi Jin is a member of the firm’s International and Corporate sections. Ms. Jin assists companies in taking products, services, intellectual property, and businesses globally. With worldwide business and legal experience, she helps U.S. companies and nonprofit organizations expand internationally and foreign companies invest in U.S. and China markets. Ms. Jin guides clients with international export and import control regulations, import compliance, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) for products and technologies.

Ms. Jin also advises clients on marketing and advertising law issues related to FTC and FDA regulations, other e-commerce business and internet law issues, and international data privacy issues, such as county data privacy regulations, and compliance, including drafting privacy policies, terms of services, and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance, etc.

Born and raised in China, Ms. Jin is fluent in Chinese, and proficient in business communication and negotiations. Ms. Jin currently serves on the board of directors for the Suprea Foundation, as a trustee for the Utah Chinese Civic Center, and on the board of directors for Johnson STEM Activity Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to her legal practice, Ms. Jin provided marketing and consulting services for international companies from China, Switzerland, and the U.S. specializing in marketing and e-commerce strategy, business negotiation, and international sourcing intelligence work.
