Jon Simmons is in the firm’s Litigation section. He is a skilled litigation advocate who has successfully represented individual and business clients in a wide range of cases. He has litigated significant cases with and against some of the finest litigation attorneys in Idaho.

Experience

  • Routinely represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex business disputes, including cases involving claims for breach of contract, claims under article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code, and tort claims for wrongful interference with contract, interference with prospective economic gain, misappropriation of trade secrets, and unfair competition. Mr. Simmons has also litigated commercial disputes involving deprivations of due process by state and local government agencies under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983.
  • Represents plaintiffs, defendants, and affected business entities in disputes between owners of partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies in cases involving claims of usurpation of company opportunities, claims for breach of contract and tort claims for, among other things, breaches of fiduciary duties.
  • Has successfully represented clients in numerous litigation cases involving real property and improvements thereto. 
  • Has litigated insurance cases in state and federal court and is able to offer a unique perspective on such cases through his representation of both plaintiffs (individuals and businesses) and defendant insurance companies in coverage disputes, bad faith tort lawsuits, and claims for wrongful sales practices.
