Overview

Kirton McConkie’s Labor and Employment law section is among the largest in Utah. We have found that education and counseling are important tools to avoiding litigation and the associated costs. Our goal is to work with employers to provide employment law advice, build employee relations and avoid problems through careful planning.

The firm represents clients in all areas of the workplace, including discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, ERISA, unemployment matters, wage and hour issues, avoiding retaliation liability, workers' compensation and occupational disease claims, ADA claims, employee benefits law, wrongful termination cases, misappropriation of trade secrets, non-competition/non-solicitation, reduction in force and reorganization, employee handbooks and personnel policies, executive compensation, and civil rights.

IMMIGRATION
We draw on the talent from our immigration attorneys to help supply worker visas and rely on our elaborate network of local counsel for expert advice and assistance. We have special emphasis regarding family and employment-based immigration, non-immigrant and immigrant visas, naturalization and citizenship, employer sanctions, and compliance with immigration law. The attorneys in this group are fluent in multiple languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Greek, German, Polish, and Russian.
